Grew up on quinte and spent many weekends fishing the kiwanas walleye derby, but after moving out west and then to the gta afterwards. It’s been years since I’ve been back, and even longer since I fished the derby. Is anyone thinking of going this year and need a buddy to tag along and split cost? I have a pretty good knowledge of the lake, and boat ramps from Trenton-deseronto. Have all my own gear, and consider myself a hardcore angler. Rain/shine, as many hours as it takes I’m game. Figured I’d put it out there, if not I’m going to rent a boat an most likely be fishing solo. If you are entering this year and your boats full be safe, and good luck.

Ya bay of quinte, and ice out lol. Just make sure you have a life jacket on man, strong currents there and you already know that water will be cold. Vertical jig the pillars of the bridge, blade baits, spoons, live bait. All do the trick, but you’ll be missing out on walleye an pike opener in May. Some pigs come every year still close to their spawning grounds heading to deep water
