My first drop in the water will be a white ¼ ounce matsuo jig with a live minnow... Hopefully within minutes there will be there scream of drag ripping off reel... Hopefully the ice will be gone...

If it is fishmagnet then it is walleye Bottom bouncers with worm harness worked well last year so I see no reason why not to start with this set up again this year.

I don’t fish walleye so my opener will be a few days before yours as it will be for Steelhead. I will probably dunk a roe bag first.

First drop (as always) for me, in soft water, will be a 1/16 oz. jig with a white 2" tube under a slip float for those 2lb. crappies. Lookin forward to a stellar spring! 🙂
