OK folks, here we go. Tackle and gear discussions LOL

I have tried many many fishing lines, copolmer, fluoro, braid and of course mono.

I like some, namely Stren, Trilene, Power Pro.

BUT I am looking for a non-braid line that has virtually no memory.

Looking for something, strong, small diameter and very limp, with no memory. I know braid fits this description well, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a mono-type line that fits this bill?

Yes, I know ... I don't think it exists.. Just thought I would field the masses, maybe someone knows something I don't.

What type of line conditioner do you use?

Anyone ever try Sunline Supernatural? I never heard of it before, but in my online research some ppl have mentioned it.

Am in same boat as yourself here......used over 25 different monos over the years and all have some memory

One that I still do like with line weight up to 8 pounds if ice floro clear....which is off market now to best of my knowledge. I bought a number of spools and really like it, but now we get into, stretch vs non stretch as well or at the least less stretch on fluorocarbon vs straight mono

great question and I am certain there will be many many suggestions yet to come

I used Trilene XL - extra limp - 6lb for years before I switched to braided line. Found this to be a fairly decent line overall, cannot say it was 100% memory free but I never really had any issues with it.

I find that my "Ande" line is no problem once its wet. Used it for many years and find it to be one of the best all-round lines made, the other I like is "Maxima". I've never had problems with either one.

After having a tough time in the spring throwing split shot with roe bags for steelhead and having issues with the line coiling on the way out, I started looking for a better line

I ended up with suffix elite mono, using alot of 6lbs these days and absolutely love it. That is pretty much my exclusive mono these days, but it does have some stretch.

I have tried most of the above lines also over the years targeting different fish species under variable deeps, structure, and water color.

The one I found the best for my spin casting needs is Berkley Nanofil (Clear Mist) that is close to zero memory but takes some getting used to. I use it with 1 or 2 good quality barrel swivels onto fluorocarbon leader.

Pros
-zero memory
-ultra sensitive
-you can cast a mile with it almost like a thin silicon coating on it?
-very strong I use 12lbs with .008 dia ...it feels like +20lbs strength when pulling out a snag and usually have to cut the line as it wont break by hand
-I have had it on one spool for over 3 heavy years of use and still looks good.
-use it for ice fishing also.

Cons
-twists easy without swivel
-requires special knot to tie on swivel or direct to lure (instructions on their website)
-it can fray a bit over time but doesn't seem to effect strength...usually the first 10ft or so where it has the most abrasion occur.
-$$$
-haven't seen it in many stores lately

Anyway my 2cents with this product .

I ran sunline super natural mono for a season on a rod dedicated for topwater treble baits for increased hook up ratio, it was okay I didn't have any problems with it, I ended up going back to braid for increased casting distance.

i agree, least memory out of any mono i have used, keep in mind 8lb test will have much less memory than 20lb test
