Fishing Line with the lowest memory?

I just hate it when my fishing line has a better memory than I do!!

I know about Trilene XL and it is good line especially the 6 to 8 lb test.

Sufix Elite Mono (never used it, but I like the reviews and product description)

Berkley NanoFil (again I never used it, BUT very interesting line, thank-you!)

Application: I want a strong low memory line for the mainline of one of my steelhead rods matched with a spinning reel, as someone stated in this thread, they had the same problem with memory line and trying to cast light floats, shots and roe. The main reason I am shying away from braid is ice up problems. Cold weather steelheading braid becomes an ice blob mess. So does mono, but not as much... I also want a strong mainline, because the rivers I fish are snag infested urban ditches, complete with fallen timber, rocks, wire cages, tires and shopping carts. Using light line is a joke in these creeks. I would like to run 12 lb mainline with low memory, as thin as possible to avoid ice build-up.

Anyway, I realize 12 lb line is a bit thicker and usually has more memory, so I might just have to fish with 8 or 10 lb mainline and just live with and try to avoid the snags. After a while you memorize where they are anyway, until someone throws another shopping cart in the river..........

My kastking line i used this season has no memory. Its also uncoated so freezes outside easily. Gonna try it this summer and see how it cast.

I've been wanting to ask members about line for awhile,but related to ice fishing. The freezing braid is getting annoying.

Suffix mono my first choice and suggestion to people.

Yozuri hybrid, heard good things. Yet to test it though.

Pline is one of my go to as well.

My pin currently has suffix steelhead/salmon high floating line. Not bad but really soft does carry memory though like most. I have also switched to slip floats which helps a ton FYI.

LOL.. What I am saying is I need to find a new fishing location, like a river in the mountains of northern BC... But until I move there, I guess I will have to make due with these urban ditches..

It's not that bad (re. shopping carts), I was just messing around.. But yes these creeks have lots of snags, natural and man-made..

I have been looking for a somewhat heavier mono (12 lb-ish) with low memory for this given application and to reduce the float donations to the river gods..

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I will be checking these lines out. I have heard some new lines coming out of Japan, but like most I have yet to see them in the tackleshops.

Since it's a rainy day, I might go for a drive and check out Gagnons, I think they are having their spring yard sale..

LMAO....My wife just asked me what I was laughing at! I like nanofil.... 6 lb trilene xt green gets the nod for my spinning drift rod, 6 lb is probably closer to 8 or 9 lb test, definitely has memory though, I still can’t seem to find a line I’m happy with for my centerpin, just put on 8lb gamma, another guniea pig, good luck getting out of gagnons for under $100 steelheader, im rooting for ya

Ive have to know jerry, what line did you go with and how much did you spend?

I have used sooooo many mono lines over the years and I could t tell you which ones are the best as I have zero memory. 🤪
