Thinking of going in the perch fest but I have never fished Simcoe soft water. Any info would help. Where to launch? Bait-worms or minnows? Thanks in advance

I have participated inside this tournament a couple of times, The tournament has basically 2 ways you can win, you can catch one of the elusive tagged perch and the other is by bringing a live perch (1 per registered participant) every day for your daily ballot into the grand prize which is usually a boat.
When I do participate I usually just keep a bucket of minnows with a bubbler in the garage run out quickly after work for a half hour so I can get a ballot each day for the grand prize at the end, with that being said I know many people do not have the luxury of living as close so that can be difficult for some.
Overall the price for the entry, activity, and entertainment is great and it is also a great family oriented tournament and environment if you have little ones.
