Was out from dawn to 4 on Tuesday , 26th, off Rayners Rd in Cook's Bay , Keswick, and the ice is a solid 15 inches everywhere I augered. Had the lake pretty much to myself aside from a low flying C-130 for a few minutes. Drilled from 40 feet mid lake to 12 feet close to shore, and threw slab grabbers, pimples, jigs, bugs and of course minnows at them to no avail. I caught some, maybe 20, but too small to keep. Took a look this morning. No water on top of the ice, and I'm sure the ice is still thick as it hasn't warmed up enough, long enough to matter. I do not trust the pressure crack that runs across the cove though. Already went in once last week. I set my minnows free.

We were across the bay and found the same "crowd" and success. Drilled 2 rows of 4 or 5 hole for us to move around -- about 10 yards apart in the rows. We watched one guy wander up from the south and different guy wander in from the west. Without a word, they squatted on an open hole and fished! We must be great people for cutting and cleaning holes for complete strangers! No one else around us for over 100 yards. If we'd been catching fish, the "bum's rush" would have been been in play; but, their skills/luck was no better than ours.
Monday was productive early morning, then died off.
