Who’s pulled their boat out?, Are you getting ready?

My hit the water yesterday for its 1st trip of the season. Put it in the St Clair river. Slow day but a beautiful one. 1 eye, and 1 small bow.

I have never heard about where the safety chains need to be hook to the trailer. Not even sure where mine are connected will look when get home. I know the chains must be crossed, but that is all.

Two plates that are completely welded too the trailer would have to rip off the trailer simultaneously or the hinge pin and the main bolt/shear pin would both have to fail at the same time...I think that's highly unlikely...
Hell the whole hitch itself could fail ripping from the frame of the vehicle.
I've heard that has happened before...

I'm really referring to the one I have it's bolted on and made of aluminum but would it not but safer that way and yes the pins do break
