Late season splake, Lake conditions

Made it out to a back lake yesterday, lots of ice on the lake but getting on/off the lake is starting to be a bit tricky depending on where you access it. The sun is melting the shorelines which are west facing but the east facing shorelines are still solid. Lots of ice on the lake about 3 feet with no slush (on the two lakes I was on). Fishing was slow and the bit was very light. 1 splake on the ice and a bass (tossed that back) but we had a few lines were they were just barely grabbing the bait (just enough to make you run and check on the lines).

The lake always has open water here but now it's starting melt faster, access is not to bad off to the side.

I have three dogs already but if I said to the wife do you want another dog she would definitely say yes ..
Definitely might be on the couch for a long time if a bring home a snow dog...lol
