Zone boundary questions, 17 or 20

The place I plan to fish is zone 17 and I am casting into zone 20. Which regulations apply?

Standing on land in zone 17.

Pike is open all year zone 17 and opens in May in zone 20.

There are detailed maps regarding zone 20 and which bays or harbour are in zone 20. Ie Frenchmans bay is zone 20 so no pike fishing. I can’t recall off the top of my head if whiby or Oshawa harbour are.

Anyway follow the regulations for the waterbody you are fishing.

Scroll about half way down the page to the section marked Detail maps for the legal boundary map and click on Detail 1 - 10.

In response to your question, if you are casting/fishing from a zone which is open into a zone which is still closed, you are fishing out of season even though you are standing in the open zone. You will be subject to a fine when caught.
