World Record Trout Group: Members Posts: 5105 Member No.: 67 Joined: February 10, 2011	I drove past there today and people were launching boats. On the other hand there is still ice there in Smiths Bay and I could not see if you could get around the point into the narrows. There was still ice on the Simcoe side of the narrows--maybe 400 yards from the bridge. Some boats were fishing tight to the ice. If you do launch there and get around into the narrows and there is still ice out there on Simcoe--watch that it doesn't blow in and prevent you from getting back to the launch. SDC

I am thinking by the time we reach this coming weekend, there would be no ice lwhatsoever left on Simcoe. Time to head out for some Simcoe perch, then, though I am just not sure where those jumbos are, like if I shall go shallow very shallow or go deeeeeeeeep.....
