It's that time of year again, spring time bobber fishing for pannies. Weather hasn't been the greatest this weekend, dealing with winds, rain and cold temps, but I put on the rainsuit and gave it a try. First area I tried only had a few small perch. It seems we are way behind this spring, the water has not warmed up enough and barely buds on the trees. Drove around and checked a few other shore spots where I have had good action in early spring for panfish, and eventually found some jumbos. They were sitting a little deeper than usual, in approx 10 fow. Once I found them, action was consistent, landing about 50 perch. Kept a few for dinner.
Slipfloat with a white tube did all the damage. Also landed a nice pike on the ultralight, which was fun.. Quickly released.
All and all a great first outing and enjoyable to be out again.
Cheers and Happy Easter..
