Just throwing it out there., No real place for this request

Hey guys I am out in B.C. on the island right by Victoria. No way I can afford what I would need to pay for a charter for Salmon or Halibut. If anyone has a friend out here with a boat that goes out that I could tag along and pay the fuel bill let me know. Just fire me a PM if anyone has a buddy that doesn’t mind taking someone on an adventure. Besides paying the gas I would of course share anything I caught.

How long are you there for Disco? Got a buddy that runs out of Sooke, usually for salmon. No idea what his schedule is like, might be a bit of a long shot but if you're there for a while I can put in a call. If you brought any sticks you can hit Thetis for smallies in the mean time.

Their river fishing for rainbows should be a blast now too. May be a cheaper alternative to a charter.

What is the cost for a Salmon/Halibut charter up there?

Chuck I am here until the 20th. I am actually going to Sooke tomorrow for a crab fish off the pier. If he is willing I am game with gas money in hand.

I was in Sooke 4 years ago. Cost me $450.00. Went out by my self. One more item off the bucket list. 6 hour trip, 54 salmon. Most between 14 and 20 lbs. with a couple pushing 30 lbs. Slept great that night and the arms were really sore the next day but worth it. LOL

wow that's incredible..definitely makes me want to add a trip out to the bc sooke area on my bucket list as well..!

With the price of fuel out there now at almost 1.70 per litre..450.00 for a charter is cheap..

I was going to Victoria for work and had it all booked before I left Ont. The captain knew I was coming out by myself, told me he would show me a great day. That trip really peaked my interest in salmon fishing on Lake O. and yes and he was well tipped.
