A Few New Custom Muskie Baits, The season is coming! Woo hoo!

Sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth selling as they take quite a bit of time to make. As much as they come out looking clean, there are many corrections along the way that get fixed to come up with the final product. Lol

Painting 10 times over because you made a tiny error, having a clear coat blowout, misaligned wiring, lip symmetry... the list goes on and on.

As much as some people would never spend $200 on a single lure, the market is there. A few select muskie baitmakers regularly fetch well over $400 for one bait (I’m not there yet, but a strong season with big fish could change that). I work for what’s likely less than minimum wage at 160-200 per lure.

Sometimes, buying a $35 Jake seems like a good idea! Lol
However, it is addictive... and has taken so much work to get to this point, it really would be hard to stop.

The love hate relationship is rich in bait making! 😁

I will have one ready for the pike tournament as a giveaway... so I hope someone enjoys it regardless of where it ends up... the mantle or office desk, or better yet, in a big toothy critters mouth!

This right here proves it's an addiction and that you do it for fun more so than for the money.

Are you going to tell me that a muskie wont bite it if the colour is missing a bit on one side? If so then I guess all a bait fish would just have to shed a scale or 2 to get a muskie to stop chasing it. This part is for us as people. For some reason we need things perfect and think it's wrong if its not. The double edged sword here is that people won't buy them if the colour looks uneven. The fish that those people are buying them to catch could probably care less



Uggg fishing is such an addiction, just make sure you have a nice 007 waiting for me for when I win the gold pike tourney. I will not use it for one year as I will hang it out of the gold pikes mouth on my mantle then the next year I will catch a monster on it.

I don't think this is about the price vs "lure" that catches fish.

I'm pretty sure if I bought one of those beauts I would never use it. Like other's have said, it's artwork. Art is pricey. You either appreciate the piece or you don't.

We all have a passion for fishing and lure collecting. Those pieces belong on a mantle at the cottage.

Sorry if I offend the artist, I'm sure they catch fish as well! I bought a hand crafted popper in Buckhorn about 10 years ago that hasn't seen the water yet.
