Gill Lice

I have never seen so many bows with gill lice as I have this year. I did a google search and its pretty apparent that its an invasive specie to add to the list.

The really bad news is that once a bow has the lice its a huge mortality rate. Im not sure if the ministry has any clue about this but hopefully, if the very few atlantics that have survived these last few years we may see the ministry getting involved with there pet project for some sort of cure.

Yes, the gill lice have been showing up more and more.

As far as I know not one invasive species has ever been eradicated. but some have been brought under control to some degree

I truly believe that the MNR wont do anything as they want nothing in Lake O except atlantics, and any other "native" specie. As far as they are concerned it would be a blessing from heaven

well, I do not quite believe that, but maybe you are right


we are releasing pen raised chinooks next week here though

and by definition, the original atlantics are long gone...the strain now used is invasive

I'm surely going to get chewed on that one again
