Great idea bolting to the oar mounts I was looking at it like you mounted by screwing the board to the gunnel, much more practical your way.
I gave a buddy money two weeks ago for a downrigger his friend has for sale if it doesn't turn up soon I'll come find you if yours is still on the market.

A buddy has virtually the same outfit/set up. The cross member that holds the downriggers supports to the "strength" of the hull when rigging - holding the gunnels in place and reducing added torque. He also added storage under this board. A simple "cabinet" drawer that ran the length of the mounting board with a couple sliding openings (~10" tall). It's amazing all the little things that found their new home -- and out of the weather (extra clips, knife, pliers, scents, etc.,..... even his wallet and boat papers).
When at home, he'd lift this mounting board and store in the garage for safety. Worked well.
Great idea of the drawer under board ..Watch for it, my floors are covered with that inter locking foam mats ..works well .. Like the board set up , can take it off when not rigging and if a buddy wants to try rigging he can take it and fasten down with clamps on his boat for a trial ..

Interesting observation , This spring among all the salmon caught not one had any lamprey marks , also no food in their bellies ..
Last summer and fall among about 25 fish caught about 40 % had lamprey marks and even landed a few with lampreys attached ..Mind you these were mature fish and longer in the system , the fall fish also had bait fish in their bellies ..

The 7-pound salmon my son caught had an empty belly and no lamprey marks. The trout we were catching were the same until the water temp got up to 44-45 and now their bellies are full.

The reliable Honda
I had a similar set up in a 16' Princecraft with a 7" wide x full 1" thick maple plank secured through the oarlocks. Scotty riggers with swivels mounted on top. The only thing that was a real pain was getting over the plank without either getting a stretched teabag or pole vaulting. After a couple of years of getting annoyed, I lowered the plank on top of the center seat, added steel pedestal mounts and put the riggers on top of that. There are also aluminum plates from the gunnels between rigger base and pedestals. Too late tonight for photos but I'll get to it tomorrow and post them up. This makes moving around a lot easier and safer.
