Good job Zzz. I to enjoy kayak angling...especially topwater bass fishing on glass calm summer nights. Lots of fun. Totally different approach and take on the action. Some of the best bass (and other species for that matter) of the summer can be had quietly sculling around. You can get really close, even on top of, big areas of shallower structure and vegetation. Been enjoying your thread...you got a great pimped out dugout. The higher water this year should keep plenty of bigger pickerel on some of those deeper near shore reefs for a good part of the summer. Shouldn't have to drop into the main lake basin as early or often.

Thanks Grumpa. I always enjoy your posts and reading your perspective on the state of the lake and the fishery. Being fairly new to the area (4 years), it’s nice to hear from someone who has been here much longer and has experienced the good times and bad, Nipsissing has gone through. Maybe we should get together sometime for some kayak fishing together. Tight lines.
