Shallow? I’m not used to fishing up there ? I got 200 worms hope that works. But I also have dipsy diving and trolling gear aswell ant tips would be great thanks !

Can’t tell you where to go as I’ve never fished the upper French. But I’ve fished the lower French, I’d assume the same techniques work. You usually can’t go wrong with slip sinker rig with minnow or worm I personally seem to like minnows this time of year especially with it being a cold spring, jig with minnows or worm, or worm harness chartreuse, gold, or orange seem to be favorites. When I locate fish I can usually get them to bite with one of these rigs on the lower French!!!

My family has a cottage on Sandy Island and we go up the river from Dokis as well. I havent been up there yet this year and cant tell you which depth to fish but I can tell you that most of the fish I catch are either by using a bottom bouncer and worm harness drifting over shoals or by jigging with chartreuse or pink jigs.I usually try to fish anywhere from 25-35 feet of water but I would guess most of the rock shoals in that area hold fish. If you can find some minnows I think they might do better in the cold water. How far up the French are you going?
