Returning Canadian from Texas... new convert?

What's up guys.
I've been living in Dallas, Texas for the past 5 years and was fishing heavily for Bass using a 20ft Bass boat with a 200 horses and many bells and whistles on it. I'm laughing as I type this, but now that I live back in Downtown Toronto it just doesn't seem feasible anymore (sold boat in Texas). So I am heavily considering the Kayak option. I still have my truck, $, and plenty of storage for a yak... so what do you think?

Do you have any advice for me as to where to shop locally?
Any places to look other than kijiji for used?

Although I am new, if I'm going to spend any $ I would like to get something quality that has room for upgrades. Any recommendations/and or help would be appreciated as I get over the shock of not being able to fish all year round anymore.

Hey Dan either the Hobie Pro Angler or the Outback will suit all your fishing needs, the only downside is you won't be breaking any speed records get to your spots, upside no fuel cost.

It would really depend on what your intended target species is? I started off with a leisure fishing kayak but quickly realized I could not deck it out like a bass boat lol.

I now have 2 Hobie Pro Anglers. A 14' and a 12'. Both are work horses and can support a massive amount of weight. A trolling motor on these is not out of the question at all. Mine have both bow and stern mounting plates and options. (Bow mount in pic) The plate on the back can support up to a 9HP gas motor or any electric.

Extremely dependable and I trust these with my life while out in the middle of Lake Ontario trolling around for salmon

Side motor mount option as well. There isn't much you cant do with these.

If you do get one and want to troll the big pond for some kings let me know. The more ppl we can get to cover water the better.

If you want to fish Ontario go for a bigger kayak Hobbie, Wavewalk or a super long and light one if you want to paddle.

First two can be easily motorized.
With your truck you can carport any kayak type.

I don't know about Hobie but Wavewalk can be shipped to your door straight from manufactuer.

Keep an eye out on Kijiji. sometimes you can find a real good deal. Both of mine came from there.

If not and you want a new one. Fogh marine near Toronto has new ones. Be warned, even used these guys are expensive... about $3000 used or $6000 new after taxes.
