I just got back from a week at the West Arm. Arrived on Tuesday afternoon and caught one 15 inch walleye that evening. Great day on Wednesday, 15 walleyes (no keepers), there was an hour in the afternoon when we were landing one every five minutes. Thursday yielded five 'eyes including a 19 incher that made a nice early lunch on Friday for my brother and I (after we'd caught six more wallies that morning) before he had to hit the road.
My oldest bro arrived Friday evening and we each caught a walleye first thing Saturday morning, including this 19 incher (Saturday dinner) before the high winds and and rain squalls kept us in the cabin for the rest of the day.
Sunday was decent with six 'eyes for the day (no keepers) and then someone threw the switch - no wind and higher temps, and the bite was suddenly off. Two perch in the boat all day Monday and then nothing Tuesday morning (getaway day).
Still a pretty good trip, 34 walleye total with two keepers. Since they changed from the slot I never complain about any trip when I get to have a walleye dinner, let alone two!
In answer to the OP, back trolling a bottom bouncer/worm harness in 20 feet +/- of water is my "go to" method.
