The bugs are starting to slow down but if you are going into the deep woods get ready to lose some blood. Here are some tips to keep you relatively bite free.

For really bad bugs (once a year) I use 100% DEET and coat my clothing in permethrin, which was invented by the US military to combat vietnam skeeters.

Both are illegal in Canada so throw me in jail
Strictly speaking Permethrin is not illegal in Canada. It's use and sale is quite closely controlled however. Mark's, for example, sell a line of already treated clothing called No Fly Zone under their Wind River Brand. It is expensive but currently on sale for 50% off until Sunday. Sorry for being late with this info. I missed this earlier.
Great vid Coke, sorry about Bear. We are all hoping you get your kitty back.

EPIC! the "dramatization" was awesome!
Thanks for the good vibes! I felt it needed to be demonstrated but I was worrying that some people might get a little uptight if they thought I was really p###### on camera.

I remember a time when my dad would buy 95% deet. Took paint off. Strong stuff. I hear a few people talking about this permethrin. I wonder why it was made illegal in Canada.

My buddy was telling me about the treated clothes. He said it was big $$$. I wonder how well they work.
Thanks. I keep hoping I'll come home one day and find him sitting on my porch.
