Lakemaster or Navionics map, Which one to get

Currently looking at a new fish finder for the boat and wondering which map to get. The list of Ontario lakes is impressive for lakemaster. Are the two comparable or is it a matter of personal preference? I have an expired subscription of Navionics on my phone and works well. I also have a minnkota ipilot trolling motor without the link. It would be a $500-600 upgrade to get the link and at the time of purchase seemed unwarranted. A hefty price to pay to be able to troll contour lines if I get the lakemaster map. Is one more accurate or shows more detail?

they're both pretty much visually the same maybe a little more detail the main difference is user controls and funtions i have lake master and use navionics i also have a finder with the new garmin navionics thingy they are all pretty much the same as far as navigating finding spots on the other hand the lake master so far is the best i haven't really used the garmin nav yet the stand alone app is pretty easy to use and always in your pocket at your finger tips but not as detailed as the others but still very useable on a side i also had the blue chart it was not very user friendly and had almost no lake smaller than simcoe and the greats

I went with a Garmin unit that has an ok Navionics map. It allows me to write over the map as I boat around with my own sonar which is really awesome tho and super accurate. My experiance with built in maps thus far has been pretty bad, they can be off by 10,20,30 feet more sometimes.

I have found Navionics to be quite inaccurate at times. I'm sure that lakemaster is similar. As far as I can tell, they are both based on the old 10 ft contour maps done years ago by MNR. Who are they trying to fool with their 1 ft contours?? If you look at the Muskoka Lakes, for e.g., they show all nice smooth contours. Have you ever seen topography on the Cdn Shield that looked like that?

If you are trolling Lake O or S G. Bay, though, they are prob reasonably accurate.
