This is my second year fishing Buckhorn, Last year I had a lot of success fishing for bass using texas rig, drop shot, crank baits, spinner baits, pretty much anything I threw in the water I could catch bass.

This year completely different story and I am not sure why. I have use the same baits as last year. texas rig I use tequila sunrise, watermelon, pumpkin seed power baits, I have thrown all different sizes and colors of spinner baits and crank baits, I have tried a bunch of different colors chompers for drop shot

any tips fishing lower buckhorn would be greatly appreciated as I am heading back to my trailer this evening for the weekend.

Thanks Brooksy

I don't usually fish during the summer time because i don't have much time but when I do I usually use live bait. I fish for sport. Not everyone uses live bait but I can tell you it makes a world of a difference. Skunk days will turn into fish days. Good luck!

maybe it's not your lures but your locations?, 90% of fish really are in 10% of the area.

With this heat I'd try punching thick mats or anywhere it may be a bit cooler. Long grass/rice areas, docks, mats, deeper water than your currently targeting.

Goodluck

I've struggled all year so far to get any decent bass. Fishing same spots as previous years with success. Things got a little better this weekend...got a couple respectable fish at least...weeds still aren't where they need to be in my success places.

Others have mentioned and I agree not in usual places really have to search for them, I’m having best results with whacky rig red shad yum dinger just on outer edges of large weeds with a 1/8 oz black jig head and you gotta come in stealthy!!! Shhhhh 😜 Im catching great numbers 1-3 lbs and a couple 4’s not completely satisfied but close 😁 my second choice so far this year hollow body frog in heavy mats and lillies but this becomes frustrating lol good luck FISHON
