Anyone still fishes Cooks bay for bass or pike?

I had a slow day on June bass opener on Cooks with only 2 bass and 2 pikes for a half day effort and it was a zoo on the water.

Saturday I hit Cooks again with a buddy and I was shocked to see only a few boats around. I guess everyone is chilling out after the long weekend.

Anyhow, we had an Ok day with 4 pikes between 4 and 7 pounds and two bass, the bigger one being around 4 pounds.
The bite was tough and the time between 6-8 am produced most of the fish. Fish was caught in deeper weeds in 11-14 FOW.

Still was good to be out, catch a few fish and had a swim in Simcoe at the end of the trip.

Nice! I was out Saturday afternoon, but it was a hot one.
The fella I brought out for his first time caught 2 while I got skunked.

Yes, morning was better especially after the storm and rain that passed Friday night.
Also we lost a few fish in the morning. We were mainly after pike so we fished deeper than I would fish for largies now.

Cooks bay is the only spot I’ve fished on Simcoe, was many years ago now but it’s still the spot I caught my personal best largemouth at.. just shy of 5lbs caught on a Texas rigged power worm flipping to the edge of some reeds
