Where to find the smallies?, Fishing for smallies

Hey forum users, I know a fisherman doesn't give away his best secrets but I have been out with my son around cooks bay and fox and snake Islands a bunch and have only been able to get little perch. Any advice where to try?

Find lots of sand with some mixed pebble bottom. Drag tubes.

I was at cooks bay a month ago and there were no weeds. No fish either not sure what’s happening this year. Went to snake island only found perch and very large rock bass. No love from simcoe this year.

I know your feeling, I’ve been to many lakes/ bays. The bass fishing is off
( yes some have got them). I think the cool spring ap,May,June and water levels have something to do with it. Also very hot now
I’m waiting till fall
