Thank you again to everyone that participated in the 2019 Georgian Triangle Salmon and Trout Derby. We had a great turnout, 42 anglers competed for cash and prizes. Most anglers caught fish, some were able to fill coolers while others only searched for the big one. The first light bite was great but many anglers said they caught fish in high sun. It was all about timing as every spot seemed to hold fish, just not necessarily active fish. Majority of the catch were salmon, a few bows and lots of lakers! Everyone expressed how great the fishing has been and plenty stories of knockoffs and the one that got away!
Here are the winners:
Salmon
1st Danny Salynn 17.43 lbs $750
2nd Gord Barth 12.80 lbs $450

Trout (Lake Trout or Rainbow)
1st Earl Barth 9.63 lbs $300
2nd Heather Laiberte, Meegs Lure Package

Special thanks to those who donated prizes:
Ricks Happi Hookah Gun and Tackle
Speedy Auto Glass in Midland
Meegs Lures
MacDonald Surveying
The Bait Bucket
Little Gripper Lures

Stay tuned for updates on next years event, this year was such a huge success we plan on a bigger and better event next year.

Tight Lines
Kris

Sounds like everyone had a great time! Really hoping to participate next year, my engine was in the shop this year, unfortunately.

Not too shabby to get 42 participants on a couple weeks notice.

And well done grampa, looks like you must have found a dance partner for the event.
