Heading out with a friend Saturday morning with his new boat. We thought we’ll try Hamilton harbour/ Bay Area first for walleye. Any thoughts on eating the smaller ones being caught. I’ll check for slot sizes tonight.
Also will head out to open water from lift bridge for Salmon later. Do we need to head out closer to Port Credit to catch them or stay closer to Hamilton area. Our first time also going for Salmon. Most of my fishing is Northern lakes.

I wouldn't eat anything out of the harbor including the eye's besides what eye's are in there imo should be let go. ...the harbor was a dump for the steel industry for a long time..They have been working hard to clean it up over the years as well as a dredging project to remove the contaminated bottom..There are lots of drums / sheepheads in there that i know for sure.lolI. Good luck whatever you decide to do and will watch for your report. Cheers Dave.🍻

You couldn’t pay me enough to eat anything out of Hamilton harbour, lol. You’ll most likely see first hand when you get down there the huge fish kill, and all the toxic algae bloom. Even seen multiple dead birds down there when I went, I go as far as washing my hands at the washroom before I jump in my car and touch everything. That algae stuff isn’t good, has killed a few dogs in the past already. They are in there, but no real numbers yet. Good luck out there, and don’t forget the sunscreen lol

Went out yesterday for half a day. We decided to catch and release sport fishing. Landed about 15 of them and think the restocking program is working. If I were to have landed a smaller ones around the 1.5 - 2 pounds I would have taken one home. They all seemed very healthy and clean looking fish though.
