Looking for some advice on catching some lake rainbow and salmon this summer and was wondering how far I have to drive with the boat from Port Severn to get out into salmon and rainbow waters. What I’ve heard is you need to get out to at least 60 feet of water to get into some. Out off the west side of Beausoleil Island might be my closest bet to get into some.

On my bucket list of things to try this summer in Lou of pike bass and walleye.

The Hole off of Ginn rocks is a good place to start but lots of fish there come late August.
You can try closer to Giants Tomb or Sawlog Bay, Awenda or Methodist.
Weekends it gets busy but possible early in the morning before the traffic starts.
Just look for drop offs in the area and go in an out of 60-100 fow.
Good luck.

Made it out on the weekend at the hole and I didn’t have any luck one knock off. Seeing lots of bait and fish around the bait but no takers. I’ll keep trying. I was only using spoons this time but next time I’ll probably be using lynmans. Not sure if you’re supposed to use flashers and spoons or just spoons alone a little help would Appreciated

Heard some fish are being caught in the hole. Save your gas money don’t come out to the islands, I’m out daily and working hard for 1 or 2 bites per trip.

May I ask what "hole" means? What area?
