Headed in to the park for one last kick at the can. About 7k total in portraging netted me exactly one fish and it didn't come easy. Trolled around the lake a couple of times to get a lay of the land then casted the best looking shoreline. Things were looking a bit grim by afternoon so I decided to try ice fishing. Parked on the best looking tree and dropped a jigging rap down below the transducer in about 25ft. Couple jigs later this handsome gentleman came for a quick visit. Lost one female about the same size shortly after and that was it.

A beauty!

Changing tactics often pays off...I use the same method for lakers at my place when they kind of disappear on me.

just being out there in the fall is more than worth it all

thanks for the great posts

Nice fish. Late season specks can be a pain in the arse, especially if the water temps really plunge down and get em thinking about spawning.
