So ive been hitting rice a couple times each week. mainly for walleyes in the deeper areas. been rather successful, but I want to try my hand at crappie.
Crappie in the spring makes sense to me. go shallower, find the weeds and get them. but during this cold weather, Ive got no idea where they are. are they deep? are they a bit shallow? any one have any tips?

I would look for deep water basins near where they go to spawn look for soft muddy bottoms then start using your fish finder looking for big schools . Once located use marker bouy and just sit off edge casting into fish. Just putting boat away so my season done did ok for walleye in summer fall was a bit harder but managed a couple. Bass was great lots of fun with smalies. Good luck with crappie if you need to fill seat just call
