i know it’s early but I have a ice fishing question. I’m going to try for Lakers this year for the first time, I have some bass tubes that are white but glow in the dark. Should I get just white ones or will the glow ones be fine? Also I was told to use 3 inch tubes with trailer hook,is that 3 inches from head to body or head to tails? Thanks Kevin

I've caught lake trout on a lot of different colours from white to green pumpkin to brown, so I don't think pure white really matters.
I like 4" tubes because you can put a bigger weight in them. The smaller ones you'll have a hard time putting a heavy enough weight to get to the bottom quick. (which might not be a problem if you're fishing shallower water)
So don't worry about the colour as much and you shouldn't need a trailer hook. If a lake trout wants a bait it's going to grab it, just make sure your hook is sharp because they have a very hard mouth.

What Randaller said. I was using 5 inch swim baits this summer and would add a trailer hook but that was not for lakers. I caught 5 or 6 whitefish 80ft off bottom that thought they were a lake trout and they all came on the trailer.
