What you mean our fish? That is my fish so stop catching them and tell them birds stop eating my fish! Lol

If those birds tasted like beef and had an open season... no body would care how much fish they eat.... just get fat!

There was a good discussion awhile ago here. An open season has been discussed and was put forward by the Ford government but the MNR stopped it.

What is a cormat bird? LOL yes they do some damage, but people overfishing and taking thousands of jumbo perch IMO do more damage.

Unfortunately with no
predators to keep the flock at a reasonable number it's us that should step in and blast them ....
Just one example is the Hamilton harbor, you could go and catch perch all day long 20 years ago.
Not so much anymore and I believe those dang birds be a big part of it..
There was way less birds back then then there is now..
The birds will leave but only when the food source is gone..

you really didn't think that proposal would go through did you and I thought MOE initiated it last November

50 birds and leave where they lie..not in todays world

If any of you duck/waterfowl hunt feel free to use up some ammo on them. Not only do they eat the fish, but their crap is very acidic and burns all the vegetation off the shoreline where they nest.
There was a cull at Presqille park a bunch of years ago to fix the problem there.
Just remember the 3 S’s
Shoot
Shovel
Shut Up

I am pretty sure there are people on here who have pest issues like skunks and raccoons. Live trap a bunch of them and relocate them on the islands these bird breed on.
