I was just checking the forecast for Callander and it seems like it's going to be pretty warm for the next 2 weeks... even is supposed to go above 0 one of the days. Does anyone have any guesses as to how much this will affect ice formation? I believe someone said earlier in this thread that outfitters need 12" to put out overnight huts. Is it likely we will get that depth in Callander bay by the opener. Any info/ guesses are appreciated!

Was talking with operator out of south shores and he will be putting huts out this weekend as hes measured 9+ inches and the warm up isnt gonna be warm enough to melt anything as it will drastically drop temps over night. But as Coke says no ice is safe ice so always check yourself.

Yeah, I don't think two warm days should do much. Maybe just melt some of the snow on top and then freeze it on there at night.

How deep is the water where you’re measuring?
Willing to bet if you went out further you would find more ice. I know 9” was measured last week by the boys at Rob’s Fishing Charters. They’re heading out again today to re-measure as they’re starting to pull this weekend.
