A good friend of mine spoke to a MNR official couple days back on a local river and why the fishing has been poor this fall, and the ministry guy said that there are hundreds of dead rainbows in the lake due to a massive gill lice infection.

I have myself caught quite a few fish infested with Gill life from lake O tribs. I saw the same thing years back on Erie tribs where almost ever fish I caught had a infestation of them. I wonder if the spread came down from Erie?

Not Sure Disco but I do know there was a large infestation a few years back and impacted very badly. The river has never been the same. The bows seemed to bounce back to a degree but the lice is now back with vengeance on all eastern tribs.
My gut feel is that its all the crap on the bottom of the shipping up and down the lakes. The boat fishing for bows this past summer was the worst Ive ever seen. The blue zone was non existent
