I mean for some laker fishing say somewhere in Muskoka area this coming weekend (Jan 5 or 6) if there are "safe" ice at all, and if you need a partner? I have all the gear needed (sans ATV/snowmobile, though).

And did I mention this time of year every year this message board is becoming a dating site:-)

Lots of open water in the big lakes... yes some bays have iced over but I didn't do any testing last weekend... I'm sticking to the small lakes this weekend again. Splake

What area are you fishing. I’m hoping to find a bit more ice in the highlands

Think this coming weekend I shall just spend time driving around looking for some smaller laker on some smaller lake in the area....

You can see the big lakes are open water.

Thanks guys. This is in Muskoka... I'm headed out again tomorrow and Saturday. Might venture around to some other small lakes.
