I ran 2 trips last Saturday. We had a blast as usual and had to keep the fish in the pics, tried releasing some bows but if they were netted, they did not survive nor if a photo was taken. The surface temp was just too warm and very little if no breeze at all.

Another first for me ever was that both the morning and afternoon trips, even though we had to keep some fish that we would have preferred to release, I did not clean any as both parties wanted to take them home whole and fillet them themselves! NICE, I love it..

Customer Testimonial
We did indeed have a great time. Thank you very much. You were an excellent guide and captain. Everyone loved it and we made great memories. We will do it another time. We had a great fish supper on Saturday night. And today I had the rainbow trout.

These two groups were fantastic people and a lot of fun was had out in the boat that day.

I always say that I need to learn something new on each outing or else i get bored.well in the morning trip, we ran into the typical slow down period.....when my crew aid, hey can we pick a ouple of lures to try out? Surre..so 2 new ones went intothe drink and both fired withing 40 seconds....... , but I also bumped the speed form 2.7 to 3.3, so which trick did it/ as all other rods began firring again as well.

same thing for the afternoon trip.

the sad thing about the 2 trips was this......as hard as we tried to release fish, the majority did not make it........some went down and gone for 5-6 minutes and on the return tack, there they were on the surface. I run into this a lot.

The only way I can safely release fish coming from 47 degrees inot 73 degree water temps while trolling is to pop the hooks out as soon as they get alongside the boat, ergo, no photos, or limited at best.

I do have a method for releasing lake trout even if brought into the boat but that does not work with steelhead.

The best was that in 15 years of doing this, that was the very firt time that I never cleaned andy fish as both groups wanted to take them home whole and do them themselves! Works for me
