JawJacker & Autofisher Man, Zone 15 New Regs

Reviewing the new regulations and saw this. Seeing as the hook set is done by the rod under tension do people think this would apply to the Jaw Jacker?

Key word is spring loaded which jaw jacker does not have

I asked Ontario Out of Doors magazine the same question last year since they have a section where you can ask conservation officers questions. Here is a picture of their email response.

As far as this Jaw Jacker is concerned:

First I didn't find anything different from this year (2020's) fishing regulations compared with last year's?

Then, if this Jaw Jacker were illegal to use in the Province of Ontario, I am not sure how those big box stores such as BPS and Cabela's, etc in the Province of Ontario would be able to screw up their courage to OPENLY sell such a device that is illegal to use in the Province of Ontario? Wait! Scratch that. I'd say if this Jaw Jacker were illegal to use in the Province of Ontario, there might be nothin' wrong with those stores selling this device to you like if you just keep it as say a toy (never bring it to within 30 metres of any public water/lake in the Province of Ontario:-)

Manual hooksets are always best!

Ya, kinda feels like cheating to me. But then again, I used to feel like sonar was cheating years ago and now I dont fish without one.

I think that's the kind I have seen when out with others---first the knock off, then set the hook.

Re Jawjackers etc---different strokes for different folks!! Whatever gets you out there having fun, coming home smelling fishy or skunky!!

You basically use it for your second line, so generally with a second line any distance from you, you don't feel the bite or set the hook anyway
