Happy New year my friends.
Took a drive north today to a Muskoka Lake to try for some Lakers.Unfortunately upon arrival as we spudded the area it was deemed unsafe by the three of us involved. So disheartening but that is life,I do not like swimming in water just above the freezing point!Two inches in some places three in others and even one in another with open water nearby.mmm
So we take a vote and decide to go for Crappie on another lake a short drive away.Unfortunately for us we end up on the wrong lake for our target species as we were to find out later,lmao.
But here's what happened on the wrong lake,I hook and land my personal best Pike of my life,a solid 18.88 pounds on the scale,37 incher!! Omg sometimes it pays to be wrong! Lol
We fish the lake for a couple more hours with no more success.,I am later informed by a colleague of mine that we are not on the right lake for Crappie!! Lol
We do end up on the right lake before we call it a day and I am able to add our target species to the days catch! Have a Crappie day!

Wow, monster female gator! Congrats on catching and releasing an amazing pike ! This is the fun part of exploring and fishing new waters- you just never know what you gonna catch and can be up for a nice surprise.

You are right with the plural for horseshoe. I think he keep the ones from pass years tight together.
