Curious on what strategies other guys have here. Have most people had luck in there huts? Or tend to be outside most days? We have tried both on the trips we’ve went on I’m just wondering if it’s common to have a good bite run in the huts?

I haven't fished outside in 10 years and done well.

I am also lazy and like my comfort

For us this weekend, when the bite was on we caught fish inside and outside. When it shut down, neither produced much.

Outside was nice on Friday when it was +3.

I like to set up outside during the typical Walleye hot bite times. My rationale, I can fish different depth, (shallower or deeper). I am more confident over fresh holes, especially if hut location hasn't changed in a while, I think under the huts can get littered up, and i'm not sure the fish are keen to swim and eat with flash lights, phones, salt and pepper shakers. Having said that I fish with lots and lots of guys that don't leave the huts, and I certainly cannot say that I am proof that outside is more successful..... I can say it's colder

The point about fresh holes is a very good one.....Fortunately so far, we have always had fresh location when we get there or moved

If I ever hit mild weather, I just may fish outside, but as stated earlier, have done well inside, plus only 2 of us, so plenty of room and as long as I marking fish, its all good

Thanks for the insight guys. We have always stayed with SSIC and have had mixed opinions on this. A few years ago we had a camera spot what looked like a whole deck of cards on the bottom which was discouraging. But top notch service and accommodations no doubt.

Thanks again guys.

For the most part we fish indoors. I always have my windlass tip up outside. Generally have a pickerel rig set up. Pretty much always get some on it.
As Shank pointed out, I to like comfort, so hut fishing is paramount.

We usually bring pop up huts as well. Set them up a few hundred yards from the bungalow and fish in the pop ups during prime time . It's nice to spread out and cover some water.
