As always for the Gold bass Tournament it is voted in and cannot be the same lake twice. The Gold Bass tournament acts as a classic to the Gold Bass series in which you must fish 3 events to be able to qualify. Given how fast the Tournament has grown, and how there are so many levels of anglers, this year I Have decided to break up the series into two divisions. The existing division will be called the Gold Bass 115 which is comparable to but not the same as some 115hp and under tournaments that you may have seen. This will be more for learning anglers, tournament starters and boats with smaller hp for the most part. More details will come soon, but keep in mind there will need to be a selection process involved here as I do not want pros and semi pros joining this in thier friends smaller boats just to get into the tournaments.
The other Gold Bass tournament series will be called the Gold Bass Elite. It is designed for more experienced anglers that aren't pros that want to have fun enjoying tournament fishing against like anglers. Teams in the elite division cannot fish the 115 division, but teams from the 115 division can fish the elite division if they want to challenge them self or fish a new lake that is on the other circuit. A new set of rules is being worked out to accommodate both of these tournaments and so I will keep you posted on them.
I have set the dates and lakes for both series's and they are about 95% set. They are pretty much set. Theres just always a chance that theres a conflict in schedule or if there is trouble getting enough docking and parking to accommodate.
More details for everything else will follow soon, I have been working on getting locations more so than I have been on everything else.
All of these dates have been picked however since the classics need to be voted in, we have to do that now so that we can get onto plan out the schedule. For example if a Lake that I have listed in the series wins then I will have to switch it with another lake so that the same lake isnt in the circuit twice.
The Gold Bass 115 series will still have the Gold Bass trophy at the end and the previous lakes that were voted in for it will still be ineligible. Winners of the series are still based on the best three weights of the series plus the gold bass tournament. The Winners of the actual classic are the winners of the Gold Bass trophy but not the necessarily the entire series.
For the Gold Bass Elite Series, I would like to try something new for it that I dont think has ever been done before. A 2 day Classic but on 2 different lakes. This means the series winners will be determined by the highest 3 lake weight total plus the 2 day classic weight. The winners will be who ever has the highest total and I'm working on having Belts made for the winners.
So to get all of this started it will have to start with a vote. As always from 10 random lakes. We vote on them. Wait a week, take the top 3 and vote again.
For the Elite Series, since its 2 days on 2 lakes I will have to put up 10 pairs of lakes to be voted on and then pick the top 3 from there and vote again. Thos is a little bit more difficult to manage when you take in account you have to find 2 lakes that aren't too far apart to avoid a long drive and also 2 lakes that have docking to accommodate the field.
I will post both voting threads later today. I do not post it as a poll as I want to make sure that the people actually voting are people who actually plan on entering the Tournaments.
If you have any questions or suggestions I'm all ears. You can post them here or PM me. Tight lines and I look forward to seeing you all in the summer, should be the biggest turnout yet.
Also please dont forget to sign up for the pike tournaments that are posted in the lake simcoe outdoors forum if you haven't already.
Also will be having a single Gals and pals event unrelated to either series on lake Couchiching. Date I'm looking at is july 4th. Its national fishing week and so the wives wont have to get a fishing license for one day of fshing if they dont normally fish.

Good Job Fork!! Looking forward to the season. A suggestion, it wouldn't be a bad thing to use a location twice as long as the events weren't back to back or that close together. It might help you in getting launch and parking figured out. Skinny Dippers
