After an unexpected delay , we finally make it back to our favourite winter fishing spot with SSIC...Conditions were good so able to drive out behind Garnet and wet the first line at 3 pm on Sunday and fish on in 20 seconds Rest of the afternoon was steady

Got super cold that night (-33) and bluebird skies the next day but fishing was really good all day 8 30 to 5 pm then shutdown

Next day was windy and bite was a little more finicky, but still managed a decent mix of fish

Our last morning had me fishing for 2 hours and then packed up and headed off the lake at 10.30 I needed a bit of help due to the big snow drifts

A big thank you to Garnet and Cara Lee plus their staff for another amazing time... I already wish I could go back

Just as an aside , I got my biggest fish on a tiny minnow and my smallest fish on the biggest minnow I had

Finese fishing was the key and we wound up with 55 fish... walleye, jumbo perch, pike, cisco, 1 bass and 1 smelt!!!! EVerything released except the perch

Thanks for reading... to those that have never fished on ice before, you really do not know how much fun it is..

It makes my winter each year

And a special thanks to my better half for prepping all the meals and taking care of me while up there....She's the best

My total was 55 fish landed 16 lost and many missed bites based on 28 hours of fishing

Good luck to all heading up......tip, when the bite is light downsize with UL rods

Ask and you shall receive...I just mentioned I was waiting for you report on Big Filthy's report.

Looks and sounds like another good year for you and the missus, glad to hear she has taken a liking to these annual trips. Looks like you got into some decent size perch which I am sure made for a good fish fry. Nice variety of fish caught which is always a bonus and I know what you mean about those heartbreakers, we had a few of those as well, and how these trips make your winter each year.

Glad you had a safe trip up and back, now we start the countdown to next years trip.

Thanks for the report.....now if we could just get Stevepod to give us his report

I to was looking for the Shank report. First off, if Mrs Shank is looking for a new man to take care of in the hut, I’m definitely available
Now that, that is off my chest, stellar report. I love the lazy fishing pic.
These trips come and go so fast. Another trip in the win column eh.

Cheers
Kerry
