I would say no unless you know what just froze and what didn't. Some spots just froze last weekend and now has snow on it. Even the spots that have had ice longer only have around 4-5 inches. To much snow on ice to make more ice.

The ice thickness is extremely variable. Was out checking today and found spots where the spud went through with one whack. Currently a lot of slush on the ice, some of which has frozen up but most has not. Most of the lake is pretty sketchy right now and travel is very limited.

the ice is for sure varies depending on where you go on the lake. yesterday even just 10' apart, one hole is close to 10" and the other only 7" . where I was nothing was less then 7" but the main lake was still open water when I checked a week and a half ago . but then again don't trust what any one says on here for ice thickness . my advice Go check for yourself. pus I find when in doubt the best info always comes from local bait shop and hut operators.

5 inches in bay I was in. Thinnest ice iv ever on but played it safe with light gear and spud bar. Prefer the days when u didn't need a spud bar. Could see bigger parts of lake were quite Grey. Obviously didn't venture to far out that way stayed put in 40ft caught a few fish and a chill in the on and off rain but good day all in all.

I fished Rosseau Jan 24, 25. We were also going to fish it the 26th but there was way to much water and slush on the ice. Sat there was 6 in of water under 6 in of slush. Was an absolute mess. The cold should help firm it up. We were on about 6 in of clear ice and 2 to 3 in of white. That 2 to 3 in of water ice had no strength by Sat.
I was out about 14 days earlier in the same spot and it had better ice then.
We were in a bay that usually gets early ice. Fishing was very slow both days. Did manage some good fish however (mix of Lakers, Walleye and "LOL" rock bass.

IceHole: I believe we were just up the lake from you two on Sunday. We had about 8" total, with 3-4" of white ice. Slow fishing and small sizes for us. But I did manage to find this guy -- he chased like a Simcoe Laker!

Went out today first time on rosseau. Where I was ice was 12" about 3 of it was white but lots of good stuff. Got lots of minnows stripped and fish on for a few seconds and gone but got one little guy topside to save the skunk
