Good day,

I know it's a bit too soon - just opening up a topic for PUSLINCH LAKE ice reports.

Hoping to get up there early January for my annual first ice fish of the season.

Hoping it freezes over soon I see some nice temps coming in overnight up there

Down here in Chatham... not so much lol

Need my fix of random perch and hammer handle pike!!!

Has the marina restaurant relaxed a little on allowing access or do you still need to park out on the road and walk in?

You’ll still be walking, apparently last year they would come out and ask how you accessed the lake, they don’t even want people accessing from their property anymore. Dick move if you ask me, I used to fish the lake in the summer and pay them the $15 each time to launch the tinny, not anymore, they don’t want fisherman there, they only cater to water skiing now.

Looking on Google Maps, its very limited access unfortunately. If The Old Marina owners wanted to make extra money, $10 parking and with a sign that they aren't responsible for your vehicle. Heck, they may even sell you a meal at the end of the day as well.

They used to charge money to enter, then it went free, then snowmobillers ruined their grass. Now no access through their property.

Don't forget the 2 snowmobiles that collided together and one died. One operator was drunk and tee boned the other. Their trailers and vehicles were parked on the restaurant property. The restaurant had to pay for a very heavy tow truck ticket as it was a secure tow. After that the OPP were out there the weekend after ticketing everyone who was snowmobiling carelessly. And lots were handed out. I was there to witness the whole thing both weekends. Sad but it is what it is. I miss fishing there deeply, so close to my home and not far to drive too.

Last year I saw people parking right in their parking lot and walking on with no issues that I heard of. Maybe they knew the owners but there was a handful of people who did that.

I park on the road and walk in and hang a right before the restaurant and walk onto the ice there I believe it's their boat ramp maybe? Not sure, or maybe it's a public one - either way I've never had an issue so long as I park on the road.

Kind of a joke if you ask me - I get there are goofs out there and the accident was tragic but most people are respectful and you're right if they were more open to things or just charged 5/10 bucks a car for parking then people would likely eat there more often and support the place.

I will be going out regardless since I only make it up once or twice a year to fish there so wish me luck! lol

Last year mNR came and kicked a bunch of people off, I heard the land owners did not want liability with people accessing through their property.

Good for the MNR, not sure how they can kick someone off a public lake, as long as your following the regs etc. I also heard they were telling people to leave and then watching them cross the McClintock property and ticketing them for trespassing, absolutely absurd

It's too bad. There is no better way to finish off a day of fishing than with a Puslinch Burger at the Marina Restaurant. If you haven't had one - put it on your food bucket list.
