It's a big lake so the ice conditions will vary -- like Roseau, the smaller, sheltered bays have about 8-9" (with 3-4" white ice atop). The larger section of the lake just froze over last week.
Spud your way, ....or follow the herds (especially those with a few larger penguins marching with them!).
Bill Miller (at the bait shop in Glen Orchard- 705-765-3474) may be able to give you more current information.

10" in our small bay... punched a hole last weekend as we were making an ice rink for the kids. Integrity of the ice was poor. About half being white "crap" ice. Seen some sleds drive by. I'm sure it will be a zoo. Looking forward to my first season on Joe
