Lake Joseph, Ice conditions

Egg Group: Newbies Posts: 2 Member No.: 18110 Joined: February 05, 2020	In preparation for opening season for lake trout, does anyone know what the ice conditions are on Lake Joseph??

Trophy Trout Group: Members Posts: 943 Member No.: 10129 Joined: November 12, 2015	It's a big lake so the ice conditions will vary -- like Roseau, the smaller, sheltered bays have about 8-9" (with 3-4" white ice atop). The larger section of the lake just froze over last week. Spud your way, ....or follow the herds (especially those with a few larger penguins marching with them!). Bill Miller (at the bait shop in Glen Orchard- 705-765-3474) may be able to give you more current information.

Integrity of the ice was poor. About half being white "crap" ice. Seen some sleds drive by. I'm sure it will be a zoo. Looking forward to my first season on Joe
