Does anyone have any experience fixing the PC 10 power cable on the ICE series Humminbird flashers? Specifically the sealed positive spade terminal has frayed off of the cable and the negative is also coming off. I was thinking about soldering a new spade terminal onto it but I'm worried that it would be exposed to the elements because it wouldn't be sealed like the factory ones. Furthermore the power cables sold by Johnson/Humminbird come without the spade terminals and require self assembly. Full disclosure I am looking to sell this unit and purchase a helix that could be used for both soft and hard water but I want to have it in full working order for whoever buys it.

Call the Canadian Johnson outdoors customer service line. My power cable pooched on my helix 5 portable di, had to call them up. This is from the email they sent me:

The power cable you are looking for is for a portable Humminbird unit. They are not on the Humminbird website. You will need to call the toll free telephone number below to order. The part# is 490336-2. It's used for current Humminbird portable units.

Sounds like your looking for the same part possibly, they gave me the phone # for the US so find the Canadian one, I ordered by credit card over the phone, took 5 minutes and cost about $20, got it two days later and works like new

buy fully insulated spade terminals, soldier or crimp them on and use some heat shrink. I'm assuming it's the end that connects to the battery ?

You're a good, honest man doing full disclosure but in the end after doctoring what really is it worth ? Just keep it as a backup for friends when they come .

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll probably end up keeping it. I gave the cable to the GF's dad (he's an electrician) and he worked some magic. Here's to hoping I'll get to test er' out a few more times this season.
