Plannng a spring pike trip and was considering french river. Can anyone comment?

I haven't fished the french yet, but I have fished alot of springtime pike. Sunny shallows. They bask in the warm shallow water that time of year. I find them even more when there's cattails of reeds on the shore. You should be able to pretty much sight fish them. They are a bit lethargic, so sometimes you have to get the spoon right in front of their face.

Im wondering if lodges will be open, I was looking to do the same.
