Not sure if I would consider fishing with a buddy on the pier or in the rivers for steelhead social distancing or not, but curious what the community thinks.

Great question Dayfat, I was woundering the same thing. Even if you going fishing alone and find one or two anglers on the river that maybe not be social distancing. This really sucks not we can't even enjoy fishing

Avg - if you were in Germany you’d be considered a gathering of more than 2 which is now banned. My fishing buddy is either my son or cousin so still close family. During the pandemic though I’m not planning to go out too much. When (if) this slows down then I’d have no issue fishing with a buddy. Distancing during the outbreak is a great idea but over the long term it will likely diminish. If it were to continue how would concerts, sports, movies, school, transit, etc. operate?

I answered yes because you survey said apart. But there is a lot more to it than that. How did you get to the river or on the boat. Could you keep the 2 meter spacing. I guess if my buddy drove himself to the boat ramp. Touched only the front rope and we never passed on the dock. He stayed at the front of the boat, landed his own fish we would be ok, but what are the chances of that happening. So I guess I will be going by myself for awhile, me and my pup.
