Hoping to take the boat out on L Ontario or Erie, in next few weeks. Either alone or with my wife. Anyone know if boat ramps will be available to use? Anyone used a boat ramp lately in the Niagara / GTA area?

Fishing is one of the most social distancing of activities out there....but I am sure I will hear about that...

Thanks in advance

You can launch at Port Dalhousie in St. Catharines or Qeenston down by the river

I don't know about Erie, since I haven't checked

lakefront promenade in Mississauga is stilled closed. its a shame they won't allow you to launch considering we've had some beauty days. personally I don't need a dock to get my boat in and out of the water. would be nice for something to open up!

With the way the government is closing municipal facilities and non essential businesses, how long before they close the launches? I agree that fishing is the best way to social distance but with that comes crowded boat launches.

I was on www.toronto.ca and it looks like all parks and launches on the north shore waterfront are closed. Hunker down gang, we’ll get there.
Be well and safe all!

As long as you aren't coughing or sneezing on anybody directly, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the replies.... I tend to agree that the government will close all their boat launches eventually.

Anyone know if marinas are open? Or will they be deemed by province to be non-essential and have to close?

Some friends have looked into it and they where told CLOSED. As well you run the risk of tickets and possibly may get towed..
Not sure about private launches..
These are city launches into lake O...

I didn't read this topic and went to check lakefront promenade in Mississauga today. One launch was with the barriers and on another one it seems like someone put it aside... May be it was just closed for the winter and still not opened?
A lot of people walking around anyway... I don't see a reason boat launches to be closed. Also, hunting and fishing are listed as essential business by government. What is point to close the launches?

I launched from there last week on 2 different days, as did other boats. Just move the wood barbaric. The marina is also using it to put boats in. Caught lakers off the refinery both times.....friday we were 5 for 7 with a 13.5 pounder

Not the brightest recommendation to move a wooden barrier..it's there for a reason..
