How bigs your rod?, Float fishing

Let's keep this PG guys, I'm talking about your fishing rod. How big of a rod do you use for float fishing the Lake Ontario tribs?
I use an 11'6" but was thinking about going to a 13'.

My longest is a Raven 3 piece 15 foot with an Islander.

I use a 13' 6'' rod. My last one was 11 and I'm very happy after going to the 13'6" two years ago.

13'6" is also nice becasue I wanted a 3 piece rod and its perfectly in 5' Rod holder when broken down for transport.

I got a 12, 13'6 and a 15ft. 13.6 sees the most use.

Like most of the responses already stated, 13 6 is definitely the most versatile for the majority of water you'd likely be fishing. Anything shorter/longer can be good depending on the situation such as fishing tight tiny rivers with lots of brush or fishing big water.

On east lake o tribs an 11'6" is more than enough I find as they are all relatively small rivers for the most part and not particularly wide.
When fishing larger, faster flowing tribs like the credit for example a 13' or more would be my choice.
The purpose of the length is primarily to provide the ability to reach out above the float for better contact/control and to keep line up off the water allowing a more natural and sensitive drift.
Some people like the added rod length for weight distribution while fighting fish and others prefer it for balancing the weight of the centerpin depending on its size and where they mount it.

13 would be my choice of all round rod

10.5 foot to 13 foot depending on river. I mainly use a 10.5 on rivers from Oshawa to port hope. Not much call for a longer rod there. I use a 2 piece 13 for rivers up my way otherwise. I tried a 15 footer about 25 years ago and found it just got in the way so I sold it. I tend to shorter rods than ever these days.

I use 11' 6" and 13' and 15'depending on the river size...hey that's like almost 40ft of total rod length.

Yep, a 13 foot rod is fine at the ganny. I just happen to carry a 10.5 when I travel down that way as it’s plenty for most of the skinny creeks east of Toronto.

No reason on the East ditches for more than 11.5’ unless your fishing the mouths. I fish a 10.5” eastern creeks not including the Ganny in that group. Credit, Ganny, Geen, Notti I use a 13’ but a 15’ is probably better for the Notty and Geen.

I’ve had and tried every length from 9’-15’ . My 13’ is what I mostly use. 15’ is nice for niagara and river mouths.

I have two 13ft. old fenwicks. I fish a 15ft. frontier in bigger flows.

When I stared river fishing I had a Browning noodle rod 11' with a spinning reel and when I switched to float reel I then had a 13' 6" 2 piece St.Croix Avid rod and now use a 15' 3 piece Raven reel seat rod with an Islander reel. I mostly use my 15" raven rod on the river. Just need to get a reel for my 13' 6" St.Croix Avid rod for a spare..
