Walleye opener was a bust, the river dried up,... packed up the boat and headed to another lake for some guaranteed action. Whitefish are the best this time of year! Solo livewell full! Middle of the day. Slap that bottom!

How did you target the whities this time of year, we are heading up to our family cottage next weekend and there is a good population of whitefish but have never targeted them this time of year.

Great catch

Thanks

Works in whitecaps, just let out more anchor rope.

I agree, just anchor and jig the same as you would in the winter. Worked for me on Simcoe 2 openers ago.

Thanks guys for the recommendations,

heading up to the cottage to self isolate and open things up so would like to maybe try and the ice is just out and weather looks like its going to be a great weekend.

Any particular area or structure you look for ie sunken humps depths type thing??

I'm fishing a big deep lake with lots of rock
