definitely a great read, sounds like the perfect remedy for shaking off the last 2 months. Looks promising for the next generation too, lucky lad, these type of trips are the ones that never get forgotten. good on you.

Great report. What an awesome trip and catch. Good on you on trying new lakes. Hopefully you found a new gem of a lake for all the time you spent exploring.

Thanks for all your positive comments. This trip really shook off the cooped up feeling even though I’ve been working through all of it. It’s great to see kids enjoying the outdoors and they are fun to take along. It doesn’t hurt if they carry the canoe either. Trying the new lakes was great but I can’t say we found a hidden gem on our first try although several I would like to return to as specks are fickle by nature and I usually have a three strike rule. As Drew said “ it was a friggin awesome week.”
As for Michael Kerwin and Metalbuckle I’m not looking to adopt anyone but it would be great to fish together sometime .
